Family therapy and parent coaching can provide a space to better understand what your child is experiencing while strengthening the relationship between you.

You may be noticing that your teen:

  • Struggles with executive functioning skills such as task initiation, organization, time management, planning, etc.

  • Is unable to stay focused on tasks

  • Is unable to stay still

  • Worries frequently or seems overwhelmed by everyday situations.

  • Overthinks what others think of them.

  • Struggles with confidence or compares themselves to others

  • Has difficulty navigating friendships or feels left out, misunderstood, or disconnected.

  • Becomes easily frustrated, emotional, or overwhelmed.

  • Has trouble managing stress related to school or academic expectations.

  • Avoids situations because they feel anxious or uncertain.

  • Is having difficulty expressing what they need or how they feel.

  • Is becoming more withdrawn or less engaged in things they once enjoyed.

  • Is struggling with the growing expectations of independence.

  • Seems unsure of themselves or afraid of making mistakes.

  • Is having a hard time adjusting to changes or the transition toward adulthood.

Family therapy can help you:

  • Improve communication and reduce conflict.

  • Better understand each other's perspectives.

  • Navigate difficult conversations

  • Build trust and connection.

  • Work through family changes or challenges together.

  • Develop healthier ways of responding to stress and strong emotions.

Parent Coaching can help you:

  • Better understand your child's ADHD, their emotions and behaviors.

  • Learn how to respond to anxiety, overwhelm, or emotional dysregulation.

  • Avoid getting caught in cycles of reassurance, arguing, or power struggles.

  • Feel more confident in how you support your child.

  • Learn practical strategies you can use at home.

  • Set supportive boundaries and expectations.

It can be difficult to watch your child become overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure of themselves—and sometimes it can be hard to know how to help.

You may find yourself trying to reassure them, solve the problem, encourage them, or give them advice, only to feel like nothing seems to get through.

Therapy can give your teen a space that belongs to them while also giving you support and guidance as a parent.
